Tournament FAQ's

1.  What is the structure of the tournament?

You will find the level structures of all events during the Genting Poker Series here 

2.  What do I need to register?

You will need a form of photographic identification e.g. a driving licence or passport, or be an existing member of a Genting Club or Casino and take your membership card with you.

3. Do I receive any paperwork if I purchase a package through you or I buy in to the tournament?

You will not receive paperwork, however you will receive a confirmation email with all the details you need. If you have any questions you can always contact us.

4. Is there an age limit for the tournament?

Yes you have to be 18  years or over.  Our casinos operate a Challenge 25 Policy - if you are lucky enough to look under 25 years old, you will be asked to show ID…think yourself lucky!

5. Will there be late registration?

Yes.  All Main Events will feature late registration up to the end of level 9, therefore players can register up to the end of Level 9. The Side Events of those live legs will feature late registration up to the end of the first break.  See Structures for details .

6. How many starting days are there per Leg?

Legs, 1, 5 and 6 have two starting days, Day 1A (Thurs) and Day 1B (Friday).  Legs 2, 3 and 4 have three starting days, Day 1A (Weds), Day 1B (Thurs) and Day 1C (Friday).  The Online Leg only runs for 1 day so has only 1 starting day.  The Grand Final is still in planning.  See Schedule for full details. 

7. Will there be a limit on tournament numbers?

No, there is no plan for a cap at this time.

8. Are the tournaments Re-entry?

Yes. All Live Main Events and Live Side Events (not satellites), will be single re-entry.  For Main Events players can choose to Re-enter the same day / flight, or the next day if available.  Online Leg 7 will not feature Re-entry. See the full schedule here.

9. Will there be a super satellite played so my friend/spouse can qualify as well?

Yes. Each Leg will feature a Super Satellite on the day before the main event, plus there will be extra Satellites available in the weeks before the festival, in both the host casino and the nearby casinos.  See the full satellite schedule here

10. How will I be paid if I cash in?

You will be paid in Chips, Cash or Cheque.  For large payouts we recommend a cheque. Online Poker account holders with Genting and partners can also choose to have their winnings sent into their online poker account. Online poker account holders who buy in online, or qualify via a Freeroll or promotion, will be able to take a maximum cash / cheque payout of £2,000.  Any further prize will be paid into their online account.

11. If I cash in what currency will my payout be in?

UK Sterling.

12. Who is the Tournament Director?

13. Is there a dress code in the casino or tournament area?

Dress code is smart\casual please, no scruffy jeans or scruffy trainers, no shorts, no vests.  Baseball Caps and Hoodies are permitted in the poker room, but not in any other area of the casino.  (You may wear your hoody, just not with the hood up!)  For full details regarding acceptable sponsorship logo wear, click here  

14. Will there be a dinner break?

Yes there will be a break, See structure page for more details 

15. Will I get fed even though I am not in the tournament anymore?

We are keeping the registration fees as low as we can, and therefore we are not providing a free dinner during the break.  There will be a very attractive food offer, and players will be able to pre-order a great value dinner. 

16. Are beverages free during the tournament?

Tea, Coffee and standard soft drinks are generally free of charge.  However other drinks will be charged for.  There will be a lot of valets on duty to take orders, and there will be a very good drinks offer for poker players. 

17. Can my friend come and watch me play?

Yes, of course they can, we welcome them into our clubs, but certain areas will have restricted access. Please note, your friends, like you, will have to join the casino and must be over 18 years old.

18. I have qualified online or bought my package in advance, can I sell/swap my package?

Yes. We are happy for you to transfer your seat to another Genting Poker Series Main Event if you cannot make the on you have qualified  for. Similarly, we will transfer your seat or package to another player.  However, for any changes, we need plenty of notice to do this.  Therefore any requests to change seats or names must be received more than 24 hours before the tournament is due to start.  Change requests received after that will not be processed.  Please contact us to request a change.

19. Can I buy in directly at the casino?

Yes.  Registration is available via gentingpoker.com on the Poker Software of Genting Poker, Poker Encore or Circus Poker , or at any Genting Casino or Genting Club Cash Desk.  Click here for full details 

20. When does the tournament registration start for main event and side events?

Registration at casino cash desks or on the Poker Software is open now. 

21. What happens if I don't turn up at the event or am late?

Players who have qualified or pre registered who turn up late will have their chips put into play from the start of play.

22. Will there be any side events?

Yes, there will be plentiful side events. See Schedule for full details of the side events at each Leg.

23. Will there be any cash games and sit and gos, if so when do they start?

Yes, there will be both available at the casino as well, and will be available on demand, subject to dealer availability.
